- Eligibility Criteria
If you are interested in applying for this recruitment, you must have completed Matriculation with Science & DAE. Additionally, you must be between the ages of 17 and 21 years to be considered eligible.
Candidates with a Matriculation in Science with a minimum of a 2nd Division will be given preference. Those who have completed FSc with Physics and Mathematics or DAE will receive a 10% weightage during the selection process.
The recruitment is open to candidates from all over Pakistan, and the vacancies available in each province are outlined in the advertisement on the POF website, www.pof.gov.pk.
POF Artisan Training Scheme Details
The selected candidates will be required to undergo 18 months of training at the Pakistan Ordinance Factories Institute of Technology (POFIT) located in Wah Cantt. This training will be provided according to the Apprentices Ordinance 1962, and during this period, the apprentices will receive a monthly stipend. The details of the monthly stipend are available on the POF website.
The artisans will be provided with free uniforms and stationery during their training. However, under the Apprenticeship Rule 1966, the employer is not obligated to offer a job to the apprentice after the training period. Nonetheless, based on merit, a limited number of top apprentices may be offered employment as Skilled Workmen in BPS-5 according to POF requirements. Moreover, there will be a provincial quota for new apprentices.
